625 Gallery presents Plastic People
Opening Reception: Thursday, February 2nd, 5:30 – 7:30PM
625 Gallery is pleased to present Plastic People, a solo exhibition creat by MFA graduate of photography, Jackie Hancock.
Plastic People is a social commentary on the materialistic “plastic” world of the fashion industry. Capturing her view of plasticity, Hancock photographs a series of mannequins in real life settings. Styling, props, and locations are strategically chosen to highlight Hancock’s own experiences and conflicts with fashion. Most importantly, Hancock urges the audience discern between the fantasy in fashion and the reality of everyday life, emphasizing our need to bring individuality forward versus becoming a carbon copy of style and trend.

688 Gallery presents Bell’ Italia
Opening Reception: Thursday, February 2nd, 5:30 – 7:30PM
This February artist Barry Focha brings his exhibition Bell’ Italia to 688 Gallery. Having taken on a whim, a painting workshop in Italy in 2004, Focha was inspired to pursue a masters of fine arts degree at the Academy of Art University. Having graduated last fall, Bell’ Italia is a body of work which captures the beauty that Focha found in Italy. Having made several trips back to this metropolis, Focha’s depictions share a deep appreciation for the Italian countryside, its artistry, and its people.
